SINGLE CLIENT REHABILITATION

One client. One team. Everything created for you.

The problem with search

Sometimes you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in regular search terms, a brief well known description doesn’t exist.

For example, this might be what you have in mind …

“a place where people understand me and my unique requirements, is able to design and implement a program specifically for me that changes as I change, an elite clinical and complementary team curated for my therapeutic needs, where I can remain operational, where my confidentiality is assured, my personal preferences are accommodated, in my own beautiful private villa and maybe even on an idyllic island

Or this, the technical description of Istana’s practice, “bespoke, integrated multi-disciplinary, holistic, single client rehabilitation”

Both unlikely searches unless you use AI.

With no commonly known descriptors, people use generic terms such as “best rehab in the world” or “best luxury private rehab”. These throw up millions of results some with dubious claims.

Days of frustration, multiple tabs open, inquiries to fifteen different places.

But still nothing quite fits the bill or rings true.

If this sounds familiar, this page is for you.

Finding what you’re looking for

In the luxury private sector there are an overwhelming amount of choices of private clinics and  28 day group rehabs.

However these share many fundamental flaws:
Uncertain confidentiality
Homogeneous programs
Impersonal relationships with staff
Institutional rigidity
Business interests preceding clients’ needs.

Istana admits one client at a time. For every client we create and implement a programme built entirely around their unique therapeutic needs, their history, their family, their world.

We have one guiding star: the unwavering prioritisation of our clients’ recovery and wellbeing above all else.

ISTANA SINGLE CLIENT REHABILITATION

Meeting the requirements of an individual

Refining this further, the structural model of group facilities  is built around the institution rather than the individual. With this come taboos for certain people.

Relevance: A market moving CEO attempting to resolve alcohol dependency without reputational damage, sitting alongside a 19-year-old in their first serious crisis. Both receiving identical information, possibly relevant to neither.

Confidentiality: The group are bound by non-disclosure rules, but information inevitably leaks. For someone with a reputation to protect, any divulgence could end a career, destroy a legacy or fracture a family.
This is one of the primary reasons for the call that needs to be made doesn’t happen.

Privacy & Comfort: Some people are content with a room in a shared environment. Others need their own the space and agency over the environment they occupy, for instance in a private luxury villa.

A family office manager contacted us after ruling out three highly-regarded group facilities because “someone would see him walking in.” She needed no reception desk, no waiting room, no name on the door.

That is what Istana offers.

Bespoke treatment, constantly perfected

We don’t approach you with a template, we start with nothing more than the desire to understand you. And with that knowledge your treatment plan takes shape.

The presenting issue is the starting point, not the conclusion. On arrival the immediate steps to address are clear.

However the core of the problem, the underlying cause of the initial diagnosis soon emerge.  Substance dependence is often symptomatic of trauma. Alcohol and substance abuse the only tools available to manage the glare of high-visibility life. Burnout cracks open after decades of high performance, unremitting stress and emotional absence, all handled in silence.

When the underlying issues surface, we respond to new information and adapt. New specialists are introduced and the pace and balance of your treatment plan is recalibrated.

Your entire schedule flows around what is happening in the moment rather than tied to an initial assessment.

When the reins are off magic can happen

This is one of our more unusual case studies.

What do a cheerful aqua-aerobics instructor and a European aristocrat have in common? We didn’t know either.

A client arrived at Istana Bali broken, scared, depressed and devoid of hope. For a week she kept to herself, going through the motions, scarcely engaging with her team.

When discussing the second week’s schedule we asked if there was anything new she would like to try. “I would like to try aqua-aerobics”. We booked the pool in a nearby fitness club.

After about 20 minutes the support staff heard howling laughter coming from the pool. Curious, they went to see what was happening.

This beautiful woman, who had barely spoken for two years, was unrecognisable – carefree, playful and radiating unbridled happiness.

From that moment on, she was with us, engaged with the team and immersed in the program. Who could have imagined that this delightful man in a swimming pool was the key to unlocking our client’s marble clad heart?

Sometimes we don’t know what will work.

But with one client and an agile team we have the ability to try anything.

Later her best friend sent us a WhatsApp “Thank you, you have changed her life.”

The real, but elusive, catalyst for change

World-class psychiatrists, psychologists, trauma specialists — every elite clinic gets this part right. But clinical excellence in isolation is not what brings about fundamental change.

Some might think being the only client exacerbates isolation. But the opposite is true, honesty emerges and the exhausting performance of pretending everything is fine fades.

This is the moment the mask drops and a dedicated team holds the person underneath, not the public image.

Privacy sets the stage and people make recovery possible.

The clinical director who notices the tension you did not name. The support team who can sense when you need space or want company. The chef who adjusts every meal to your liking. Watching the sunrise from the lip of a volcano with your personal trainer. The entire team aligned to your needs.

Authentic connection, with the right people, in the right environment is only possible in a single-client setting.

This is where you can reset your life exactly where you want it to be.

“The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection.” Johann Hari, Chasing the Scream

The Experience of Single-Client Rehabilitation

Undivided attention. A programme that becomes whatever the person needs it to become. An environment where honesty finally feels safe.

In highly confidential work there are no public reviews.

There are quiet messages. Letters from people who had no reason to write, except that something had shifted and they wanted us to know.

A client sent a message a few weeks after leaving. He was back operating at the highest level but still grounded, utilising what he had learnt and experienced at Istana. He spoke about reconnecting with his father, the man whose understanding and approval he sought all his life.

We’re not claiming to be better than other elite facilities, we’re different. For the right person we are the right place.

A conversation, not a process.

If you have been looking and not finding, or if you are contacting us on behalf of someone whose situation requires absolute discretion, we are here.

No intake form. No pressure. Just an unhurried, confidential conversation with someone who understands the complexity, the stakes, and the need to move carefully.

We are accustomed to questions that can’t be asked directly and conversations that require sensitivity.

Call us when you’re ready.
